In order to promote ESD in Japan by cooperating with all stakeholders and lead ESD in the world, Japanese relevant ministries work together to formulate “the Second ESD Implementation Plan” based on “ESD for 2030”, which is an international framework of action involving goals to be achieved for the period from 2020 to 2030 presented by UNESCO. This plan will take a role as the Country Initiative of “ESD for 2030” in Japan as well.
This implementation plan presents methods to get various stakeholders such as social education facilities, universities and other organizations involved to realize ESD and initiatives that each stakeholder in Japan will implement for each priority action area.
