Online learning has been more prominent as a mode for learning, given the difficulties to hold face-to-face classes under the COVID-19 pandemic. This has shed light on micro-credentials as a valid method for recording the outcomes of online learning and promoting flexible learning strategies.
Taking this opportunity, MEXT and UNESCO will co-host a workshop on micro-credentials, in which the participants will share information on the provision and recognition, accelerate international consensus on the concept of micro-credentials in the Asia-Pacific region.
