(3) Introduction of Ecaluation of Educational and Research Activities
University evaluation has been introduced as a means of maintaining and improving the quality of education and research. Research has been subject to evaluation since 1986, and education since 1993. Evaluation is carried out in different specialized fields by the Higher Education Funding Council. The results are published in the form of individual university reports and rankings. Evaluation scores are reflected in government subsidies.
