Private schools developed extensively after the end of World Warll, and now assume an important position of school education in Japan. Their role is becoming even more important as the need for education diversifies and develops. The government has been promoting private schools through subsidies for current expenses, loan from the Japan Private School Promotion Foundation for improving facilities and equipment. and preferential tax treatment.
