(1) Response to internationalization
The role of our country in international society will be even
more important in the future. With this expectation, the response of school education
to internationalization has become an extremely important issue.
The revised Course or Study or 1989 pays attention to internationalization
by setting the promotion of international understanding as one of the principles
for revision for elementary and secondary education levels. As practical measures,
the Ministry is engaged in the promotion of education for international understanding,
foreign language education, the creation of study abroad system for upper secondary
schools, and the education of Japanese children who have returned from abroad.
