Japanese government announces the budget for FY 2011 with cabinet decision in 24 December 2010, including new project for promoting universities’ activity in implementing internationalization as well as exchange with Asia and the United States, etc.

 These projects are approved, with necessary revision from the original proposal by MEXT this August, seeing the conclusion given by the budget screening (“Shiwake”). For example, the Global 30 (Project for Core Universities for Internationalization) will be improved, in order to enhance industry-academia collaboration and inter-university network for sharing resource and other outputs. Also, the new Project for Promoting Universities’ Activity with abroad will be launched with more strategic objective.
