Background and Issue
○ The New Growth Stragety (Cabinet Decision) has decided to send300,000 Japanese students and workers abroad as well as accept 300,000 talented studensts from overseas into Japan for studying and training.
○ It is necessary to actively support sending Japanese studentsabroad as well as accepting international students.
Proposal
Objective
○Promoting Two-way Student Exchange
Launching new project in which students with less than 3 months exchange will be supported, in order to promote two-way international exchange. With this program, both Japanese students and international students study hard in diverse environments so that they will be expected to play an important role in the world.
○Promoting Public Relation Abroad and Preparing Foundation forAccepting International Students
Promoting projects such as offering information and preparing the system by which applicants can finish necessary procedure for gettinginto universities in Japan(pre-arrival admission). Scholarship, housing, and job hunting are also to be supported.
○Scholarship for Japenese students studying abroad
Supporting promising Japanese students who will get degrees and credits abroad.

Goal
Through promoting student exchage programs mentioned above, we aim to achieve the goal of The New Growth Stratetgy which is to send 300,000 Japanese students and workers abroad as well as accept 300,000 talented students from overseas into Japanfor studying and training until 2020.
