MEXT has launched a headquarters headed by MEXT Minister Shibayama Masahiko to ensure effectiveness of the final report released on June 25th on “Promoting measures to utilize cutting-edge technology to support learning in a new era.” The final report based on the “Shibayama Reform Plan for Learning” announced in November 2018, summarizes a detailed vision of a model next-generation school and educational staff, along with the current situation and outstanding issues. The report aims to realize fair and optimized individual learning that leaves no child behind, catering to differing abilities of children, by effectively utilizing optimized cutting-edge technology and educational big data.

The report sets forth the following detailed measures:
○Promoting measures to utilize and apply educational big data to realize fine-tuned support catering to every child’s needs;
○Upgrading ICT environments which are low cost and easy to use by utilizing Cloud and SINET1, and presenting detailed maintenance models.

MEXT minister Shibayama Masahiko said while MEXT must firmly correspond to today’s rapidly-advancing technology accompanied by social changes, he stressed MEXT must work to ensure effectiveness of the final report by providing schools and teachers with support to bring out the full potential of every student, and to realize a global cutting-edge educational environment.
