Films, broadcasts, computers and other means used for teaching and learning are called "education media." In utilizing these new media for educational purposes, it will be an important task in the future to ensure both the development of high-quality educational software and the training of experts who can provide instruction as to the most effective use of such media in teaching and learning.
With a view to facilitating the educational application of new media, the Ministry has commissioned several prefectures to conduct basic research regarding the use of new media in educational programs. The Ministry is also endeavoring to ensure that a sufficient number of qualified audio-visual education experts are adequately trained on the basis of systematic plans.
