(6) Promoting Liaison and Cooperation among Lifelong Learning Facilities


In the development of lifelong learning facilities in the future due consideration should be given to: (1)the development of liaison and cooperative systems among such facilities; 2)active provision of relevant information; 3)the effective placement of lifelong learning facilities and ; 4)providing and upgrading school facilities for the convenient use of community members. Therefore, the Ministry not only provides subsidies to local governments for improvement and development of social education facilities, but also implements a program for the construction of lifelong learning centers which serve as core community facilities for promoting lifelong learning activities. Also in order to improve the function and versatility of social education facilities as core facilities for lifelong education in communities, the Ministry is providing funding through local boards of education to assist planning and development of new and independent projects in accordance with local conditions to support the activation of social education.
