(1)Notification regarding countermeasures against COVID-19 at elementary schools and junior and senior high schools based on the Declaration of a state of emergency
The Declaration of a state of emergency has been declared for Hokkaido, Okayama and Hiroshima prefectures from 16 May until 31 May. In addition, the Priority preventive measures stipulated for Gunma, Ishikawa and Kumamoto prefectures from 16 May until 13 June.
It could be utilized for your consideration about your response to the novel coronavirus disease at schools by reference to the "Notification regarding Countermeasures against COVID-19 at Elementary Schools and Junior and Senior High Schools based on the Declaration of the State of Emergency in accordance with the Act on Special Measures against Pandemic Influenza and New Infectious Diseases (Notification dated 7 May 2021)" as the attached document.

(2)English subtitled version of the first video and Portuguese subtitled version of the second video, the interview of infectious disease experts about COVID-19
MEXT would like to announce that we uploaded the English subtitled version of first video and Portuguese subtitled version of the second video, interview of infectious disease experts about COVID-19 on the MEXT YouTube channel on 18th May.
The English subtitled version of second video will be available at a later date and will be announced after uploading.

The video contains the information about the status of infection of children with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) or countermeasures against COVID-19 that should be taken in schools. It would be appreciated if it would be utilized for the countermeasures against COVID-19.

(3)The Videos on Education for Foreign Students produced by MEXT
MEXT would like to announce that we uploaded the training videos for teachers and supporters and the video for foreign children and their parents (in 7 languages) on the MEXT.
We hope that the videos will be useful for teachers and supporters since its contents include the concept and concrete methods of teaching Japanese to foreign children.
The video for foreign children and their parents was produced for those who are entering public elementary schools, but if you have a child who is transferring from a foreign school to an elementary school, we hope that you will introduce the video to them.

Videos for foreign children and their parents are produced in Japanese, English, Chinese, Vietnamese, Spanish, Portuguese, and Filipino.
In addition to the videos, related materials such as lecture materials and picture cards introducing school life are also available.
