Precision control of bonding and decomposition for resource recycling

Overview

With the growing interest in shifting to the reuse of materials after their disposal, the development of materials that can be decomposed back to a raw material after their use is desired. This strategic target aims at the development of sustainable materials enabling the flexible control of the materials' stability and degradability and the achievement of precision control of bonding and decomposition through the development of bond control methods for materials, the development of materials for which their lifespan can be freely controlled by bond control methods, and research into decomposition control of material hierarchical structure to express greater functionality. The further aim is to gain a multi-level understanding from the molecular level to the macro level of the science of decomposition, which will be indispensable for realizing a sustainable recycling-oriented society.
