(3) Young People's Arts Theater


The Young People's Arts Theater, in operation since 1971, aims to provide young people between fourteen and nineteen years of age who will be the backbone of the next generation, with opportunities to appreciate high quality performing art, in order to increase their interest in art and culture, to inspire them with noble sentiments and to encourage their willingness to participate in art activities. It circulates in various parts of Japan during summer vacation (July - August) with the moat of promoting art and culture and encouraging sound growth in young people. 44 performances were given in 9 categories (including orchestra and kabuki) in 1992, and 36 performances in 9 categories are scheduled for 1993.
