(3) Financial Aid to Private Special Training Schools


The Ministry provides private special training schools with subsidies for the purchase of large scale educational equipment with a view to improving educational conditions to cope with technological innovations. The subsidies in this regard for fiscal 1991 totaled 504 million yen, showing an increase of 10 million yen over the previous year. In addition, the Ministry provides subsidies for in-service training programs for teachers. Prefectural governments have also been expanding their financial assistance to these schools year by year.
