PART lssues and Perspectives of Elementaryand Secondary Education

Concerning the upper secondary school entrance examination system, taking into consideration its unique situation, each prefecture has been promoting steps for improvement, such as the use of a recommendation system and the extensive use of interviews for deciding upper secondary school entrants. Continued efforts to device more appropriate methods of selection and improve the entrance examination system are desired.
