Chart 1-25. Success Rate among Applicants to Universities, Classified as New Upper Secondary School Graduates or Ronin Students

The rate of successfu1 applicants to universities undergraduate courses), classified in terms of new upper secondary school graduates and Ronin students, is shown in Chart 1-25.

According to this chart, the rate of success among Ronin student applicants has exceeded that of new upper secondary school graduate applicants throughout the last ten years.

The rate of success among both new upper secondary school graduate applicants and Ronin student applicants gradually climbed from 57% in 1966, and has been remained at 66-68% since 1971, as shown in the following table.
