Chapter 3 Toward Actualizing a Culturally-Oriented Nation
Section 6: Establishment of a Comprehensive System of Cultural Promotion
4. Cooperation with the Private Sector for Promotion of Cultures

In order to promote culture throughout the nation, there are limits to the national and local governments' support, and it is essential to introduce various resources existing in the society. For this purpose, it is necessary to develop the infrastructure for private-sector support activities such as corporate mecenat and volunteer activities to promote their active utilization, and to effectively and efficiently combine various support activities that are not limited to financial support but also involve the provision of human resources, technology and information. In particular, it has become an accepted idea that corporate support activities for culture are important not only from the viewpoint of contributing to society by returning part of corporate profits to the community, but also from the perspective of ensuring smooth cooperative operations. The government needs to promote supporting activities for culture through the provision of tax incentives.
