4 Promotion of Local Cultural Activities


Recognizing that the promotion of culture is essential in developing distinctive local communities, a great many local governments have been carrying out distinctive cultural programs. In the light of this trend, the Agency for Cultural Affairs is implementing various measures for promoting local cultural activities. Including the organization of National Culture Festivals, the conduct of "special programs for promoting distinctive local cultural activities." and the sending of outstanding performing arts to various localities for traveling performances. The Agency also subsidizes the construction of public cultural facilities, which are to serve as core facilities for local cultural activities.
