(1)Wearing Masks by Children and Students in Summer

We issued the notification about wearing masks by children and students in summer on May 26, 2022, preparing a leaflet and posting a Q&A on the MEXT website to promote understanding of this concept in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW).

On the other hand, we have recently confirmed several cases of students being transported to hospital due to heatstroke, which is alarming situation as the temperature, humidity, and heat index are expected to rise even higher from now on.

Therefore, in light of these incidents and related findings, we would like to remind you of the measures of wearing masks by children and students in summer when the risk of heatstroke becomes particularly high as the attached document. Please reconfirm the measures in your local communities and schools.
