(1) The revised Basic Policies for Novel Coronavirus Disease Control
The Prime Minister of Japan has announced that the Priority Preventative Measures has been adopted for Kochi Prefecture from February 12 to March 6, 2022.
In addition, the period of the Priority Preventative Measures for Gunma, Saitama, Chiba, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Niigata, Gifu, Aichi, Mie, Kagawa, Nagasaki, Kumamoto, and Miyazaki Prefectures have been extended until March 6, 2022.
In accordance with the above, the Basic Policies for Novel Coronavirus Disease Control have been revised.

(2) The points to adapt the “Guidelines for countermeasures in the case where COVID-19 infection of students, teachers or staff is confirmed at the schools” to the Omicron variant
We would like to announce that we have presented the points to adapt the “Guidelines for countermeasures in the case where COVID-19 infection of students, teachers or staff is confirmed at the schools” to the Omicron variant, based on the current findings regarding the Omicron variant.

We have also prepared a tentative English translation of the Guidelines and the points to adapt the guidelines to countermeasures against the Omicron variant.
