The way in which countries address culture differs widely based on the history and traditions of each country. In addition, there are differences in the relationship between culture and the government according to the role the government plays in the life of the people.
The previous chapter introduced the philosophy underlying Japan's cultural policies, and in order to provide other perspectives for comparison, this chapter will address the cultural policies of the United Kingdom, the United States, France, China, and South Korea, primarily introducing the organizations in charge of cultural policy, the promotion of artistic creation, and modalities for the protection of cultural properties.
