1. Students';Eating HIabits


According to the"Survey on Health and Sports,"while over80%of parents and guardians answeredthat they take care of their students'diet for healthpurposes,only40to50%of sixth grade elementaryschool students,third grade lower secondary schoolstudents and third grade upper secondary schoolstudents answered that they take care of their owndiet for health purposes( see Figure2-12 ).

According to the MESSC"School Health Survey"conducted in FY1997,the percentage of student saged six and over who"tend to be obese"(students who have been determined tobe obese by their school doctor)has increasedsince1987,and concerns about future life-style-related diseases have deepened( SeeFigure2-13 ).
