(3) Future national language policy


Since September 1991, the National Language Council has been looking over various issues relating to the modern Japanese language. Identifying problems and discussing adequate countermeasures. In June 1993 the Council submitted a report to the Minister of Education, Science and Culture. Titled "Various Issues Regarding Modern Japanese".

The problems that were identified in this report are shown in TableI-2-4. These are scheduled for concrete discussion at the next (20th) session in November 1993 and in ensuing sessions.
