Chapter 10 Information Oriented Society and the Role of Education
1 Outline of Policies

Now that various sectors of society have rapidly become more information oriented, the education sector is no exception in its need to cope adequately with this change. The Ministry has been taking a variety of measures, focusing on: 1)the development of information literacy through both formal and social education; 2)the utilization of new information media for educational purposes; 3)the training of technicians and other experts who can lead people in an information oriented society; and 4)the provision of more information equipment to facilities for education, science and culture, and the sharing of more information networks among these facilities.
