G7教育イニシアティブ・シンポジウム

2023年5月に日本で開催されたG7富山・金沢教育大臣会合では、G7が目指す取組の方向性の一つとして、「コロナ禍を経た学校の役割の発揮とICT環境整備」が挙げられ、教育のデジタル化はG7の共通課題となっています。対面による教育に加え、リアルとデジタルを効果的に融合した教育の促進に向け、ICT環境の整備を継続することも同会合で合意しました。生成AIを含めたデジタル技術の進展については、学習や指導の好機となると期待される一方で、教育のデジタル化推進に伴う課題の継続的把握の重要性も認識されています。
本シンポジウムは、参加するG7各国および国際機関が、G7教育大臣会合後の取組を中心に、現状や課題、および今後の計画等を共有することで、参加国の今後の教育施策等に資することを目的とします。

G7 Education Initiative Symposium  -Digitalization of Education, Including Generative AI, in School Education (primary and secondary education)- 
     During the G7 Education Ministers’ Meeting in Toyama and Kanazawa that took place in May 2023, one of the directions mentioned for the G7's initiatives was “the role of schools in the
society after the pandemic and the improvement of ICT environments”. Digitalization of education is also a shared agenda among G7 nations. The ministers thus agreed to continue
to improve the ICT environment to promote an education that eectively integrates both real and digital worlds, in addition to in-person education. While the progress of digital
technology, including AI, is expected to provide more opportunities for learning and teaching, everyone knows that it is important to continuously grasp the challenges associated with the implementation of digitalization in the field of education.
     This symposium aims at sharing the current situation, issues, and future plans of the participating G7 countries and international organizations, focusing on the initiatives following the G7 Education Ministers' Meeting. We also hope to contribute to the next education policies of the participating countries.
