Biography

The Vice Minister was born on March 31, 1971. He graduated from Meiji Gakuin University (Faculty of Law). After graduating from university, the Vice Minister was employed as a teacher at his alma mater, Hokusei Yoichi High School. His enthusiastic teaching methods attracted a great deal of attention so much so that he was featured in a TV documentary, “Troublemaker Returns to His Alma Mater”, which created a sensation. The Vice Minister authored various passionate books, and his educational beliefs based on his experiences and practices created a stir in the field of education. After serving as a board member of Yokohama City Board of Education, as Director of the Cabinet Secretariat Office in Charge of the Revitalization of Education and as a member of the House of Councillors, he was appointed to his current post of Vice Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and presently resides in Atsugi city of Kanagawa Prefecture.
