 MEXT conducts a survey to clarify the enrollment situation of pupils in public elementary, lower and upper secondary schools and other educational institutions that require Japanese language support to improve and enhance education. The key findings for the survey conducted on May 1, 2014 have been released. Please refer to the attachment for details.
 The survey first implemented in 1991 was conducted biannually until 1999, annually until 2008 and every even-numbered year thereafter to reduce the burden of paperwork at schools.
