2.3.4.4 Balance of Payments for Japan's High-tech Trade,by Industries
The balance of payments for Japan's high-tech trade in2001,by
industry,was as shown in Table2-3-28 .The
office and computing machinery industry showed a higher balance of payments ratio
than the high-tech industry overall.The electronics industry had about the same
balance of payments ratio as the manufacturing industry as a whole.The drug and
medicines industry and the aerospace industry,on the other hand,had extremely
low balance of payment ratios,and were both heavily tilted towards imports.
