  Japan's share of high-tech industrial exports by value was second only to the United States among OECD countries.This share had been declining,but recovered slightly in FY2000 (Figure2-3-24) .

With the exception of the United Kingdom and France,the total value of high-tech industrial exports has declined in all major countries,while the share for other OECD countries is rising.Japan's share of the total was particularly high in the electronics industry and medical/precision/optical equipment industry.Japan's share was relatively low were the aircraft and the drug and products industry (Figure2-3-25) .
