Chapter 8 Measures for Cultural Promotion
Section 6: Preserving Cultural Properties for Future Generations
7. Protection of Preservation Techniques for Cultural Properties

The national government is providing assistance for training in techniques, the fostering of successors and the keeping of records in order to preserve repair techniques for cultural properties through traditional techniques such as the repair of wooden carvings and structures, as well as production and manufacturing techniques for materials and instruments such as lacquer, roof tiles, and lacquerware brushes.

Furthermore, because a viable infrastructure for instruments and materials essential for preserving cultural properties is quickly being lost as a result of changes in the structure of industry, studies are being made of this situation and appropriate measures are being investigated.
