Characteristics

The University of the Air plans to establish the following four graduate programs within the framework of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, Division of Arts and Sciences:

(1) Interdisciplinary Cultural Studies Program

To develop analytical and synthetic abilities, beyond the border of the specific individual disciplines of human, social and natural sciences.

(2) Public Policy and Management Program

To develop practical capabilities required in such fields as public policy, social welfare and business administration.

(3) Educational Development Program

To develop practical abilities required to cope with various issues arising in educational surroundings.

(4) Clinical Psychology Program

To develop practical capabilities for clinical psychologists.

Although these programs represent an orientation for educational content, they are structured in such a way that each and every individual student has full discretion to study a broad range of subjects beyond the border of programs.

In addition to the main method of study via lectures given through the medium of television and radio, the programs will take advantage of the distance-learning graduate school system which plans to provide individual instruction through various methods, including e-mail and facsimile.
