PART II Recent Trends and Developments in Government Policies in Education, Science and Culture
Chapter 1. Integrated Implementation of Educational Policies
Section 2. Promotion of Educational Reform
3. Future Approaches

Further educational reform remains an important priority. The numerous systemic reforms that have been introduced so far are now reaching the implementation stage. Since the main focus of reform is a transition to systems based primarily on autonomous choice and innovation at the regional level or in individual educational institutions, we are now entering a phase in which coordinated and cooperative efforts and the contribution of ideas by the many parties involved, including regions and educational institutions, will be even more crucial than in the past. The Ministry of Education, Science and Culture intends to channel increased effort into the sustained implementation of educational reform.
