PART 2 Recent Trends and Developments in Government Policies in Education, Science and Culture
Chapter 6. Promotion of "Social Education"
6 Utilization of "Education Media"

Films, broadcasts, computers and other means used for teaching and learning are called "education media". In utilizing these new media for educational purposes, it will be an important task in the future to ensure both the development of high-quality educational software and the development of experts who can teach how to use these media effectively in teaching and learning.

With a view to facilitating the educational use of new media, the Ministry has commissioned several prefectures to conduct basic research regarding the use of new media in educational programs. The Ministry is also endeavoring to ensure that a sufficient number of qualified audio-visual education experts are adequately trained on the basis of systematic plans.
