In order to appropriately evaluate the academic achievements acquired by students outside their own school or university, various systems have been introduced and utilized. They include; a system of university credit transfers under which a university may recognize credits awarded by some other universities as equivalent to those of its own and a system of upper secondary credit transfers under which some upper secondary school credits are awarded to day/evening course or correspondence course students for completing technical education or training courses given in special training schools, miscellaneous schools or vocational training centers.
