6 Use of "Educational Media"
Films, broadcasts, computers and other means used for teaching
and learning are called "educational media." In utilizing these new media for
educational purposes, it will be an important task in the future to ensure both
the development of high-quality educational software and the development of experts
who can teach others how to use these media effectively in teaching and learning.
With a view to facilitating the positive use of new media for
educational purposes, the Ministry has commissioned several prefectures to conduct
basic action research regarding the use of new media in educational programs.
The Ministry is also endeavoring to ensure that a sufficient number of quality
experts in audio-visual education are developed on the basis of systematic plans.
