(2) Development of Government Structures for Promoting Lifelong Learning


In order to promote lifelong learning, in July 1988 the Ministry created a Lifelong Learning Bureau by reorganizing and expanding the Social Education Bureau, it has also been encouraging and assisting prefecture and municipal governments to create "committees for the promotion of lifelong learning" or other organs for coordinating lifelong learning programs at the prefecture and municipal levels, it has also been designating and assisting a certain number of model municipalities for promoting (lifelong Tearing. It is expected that, under the Law Concerning the Development of Mechanisms and Measures for Promoting Lifelong Learning, relevant mechanisms and measures will be further developed for the promotion of lifelong learning.
