PART 2 Issues and Developments of Policies in Education, Science and Culture
Chapter 6. Promotion of Social Education
4. Promoting Varieties of Educational Opportunities
(2) Learning Opportunities for Women

Due to a change of self awareness of women, growth of their education level, the maturing of society, internationalization and the progress of information oriented society, educational demands of women have become advanced and diversified. The increase of working women and their participation in society spurred development of women's power. The government and local public bodies, under these circumstances, offer learning opportunities for women, promote volunteer activities and international exchange activities, train and secure female educational leaders, and encourage and assist activities of women's associations. Women's education facilities are being developed, while the functions of the National Women's Education Center are being strengthened.
