(2) Development of Appropriate Mechanisms for Providing Learning Resources Information and Counselling Services


Providing learning resources information and counselling services on learning is now an most important part of assuring residents the most suitable opportunities for learning. To this end, some prefectures and municipalities are cooperating to build up data bases and information network systems to provide the local residents with learning information and counselling services through nearby citizens' public halls, etc. So far, Gunma, Hy_go, _saka, and Ehime prefectures have done so. Programs to promote lifelong learning have begun to offer learning information and counselling services through television, radio and written materials.
