Net total educatzonal expenditures disbursed by national and
local governroents, school juridical persons, etc. (to be called "public and
private educational expenditures" hereafter) for school education, social education
and educational administration in Japan totalled \6,200 billion in fiscal 1973.
While the breakdown of those expenditures is to be dealt with in section 2, "Breakdown
of Educational lxpenditures," change in the scale of government-disbursed educational
expenditures, which account for a little over 80% of public and private educational
expenditures, is to be observed below.
