b. Floor Space of School Buildings, Etc., Classified by Type of Structwe


The floor space of school buildings, gymnasiums and dormitories for local elementary, lower secondary and upper secondary schools, as classified by the type of structure, is shown in Chart 4-2. It indicates that, as of 1975, ferro-concrete buildings were the most common for every level of those schools, accounting for more than 50% of the total. The number of wooden building sharply declined during he last decade.
