7 Level of Scholastic Achievement
(3) Educational Conditions Influential on Scholastic Achievement

Educational conditions have influence on varying scholastic achievement among schools. According to the research on the relation between scholastic achievement and educational conditions, it has been noted that there is a definite relationship between scholastic achievement and such factors as school size, composition of the teaching staff, and instructional equipment provided. In other words, small schools are recording low average scores, while those school where the average number of pupils in a class is around 43 achieve the highest average scores. Neither larger-sized classes nor smaller-sized classes show good results.

in a class is around 43 achieve the highest average scores. Neither larger-the number of teachers and the longer their academic careers, the better are the pupils' scores. Furthermore, schools recording higher scores are those which are provided with adequate scientific equipment and a large library collection, and are allocated substantial aid from municipal governments.

Educational conditions mentioned above can be considered objectively. There exist some other conditions that cannot be accounted quantitatively, such as teaching methods, teacher's zeal for education, school organization, school administration, etc. These conditions also affect instructional efficiency to a considerable extent. Therefore much more efforts should be devoted to improve every educational condition, in quantity and quality.
